The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for October 30

Morning Peeps.  If this is Wednesday, it must mean it's time for another sketch challenge at The Outlawz.  Our sponsor for the month of October has been Sandi's Samples.  Even though tomorrow is Halloween, this sketch cried "Christmas" to me.    I used her pointsettia paper and the pointsettia from for my card.

I used Recollections cardstock.  I printed and cut the image with my Silhouette and then colored it with Copics.  The rhinestones were clear crystal so I colored them with a Copic marker .  The ribbon has been in my stash for some time.  The sentiment was from the dollar bin at Michaels a couple years ago.  I took it off the wood, cut between the two words and mounted them on an acrylic block.  I used foam tape to pop both the image and sentiment.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - The Final Challenge

It's with a lot of sadness that I post this.  Tammy and Marc have decided to take a break from the challenges.  I have really enjoyed  being a member of this design team.  The possibility exists that they will take up the challenges again after a much needed break.  Although this challenge is for Tammy's Team, many of us on Marc's team decided to join in.  The sponsors are Bugaboo and SKDigis.  I chose to use this sentiment image from Bugaboo which I made to use as a sympathy card.

DS4J Sunday Release for October 27

For this challenge, Margy did something a little different.  She e-mailed each of the DT a digi to use.  Even I haven't seen all the other DT creations.  So, you and I both had a treat in store if we hop on over to Digital Stamps 4 Joy to see what my fellow teamies have created and to look in the store.  My digi is called Love Knows Kitty by Jen Lee.

I pulled out my box of kitty paper and embellishments for this one.  I have had it all for so long that I have no idea who makes any of it any more.  The border was from a swap I did about 6 years ago or maybe even longer.  I printed and cut the image with the Cameo and colored it with Copics.  I popped it on the card with foam tape.  I used a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment and cut it with a Spellbinders die.  I used a little Rusty Hinge distress ink on the sentiment.

DS4J #78

The theme at DigiStamps4Joy this week is "Embossing (Wet or Dry)."  I chose to do only dry.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the pink background and an Anna Griffin folder for the small strip.  The small pieces of cardstock and dp were from my scraps.  I colored Cosmos from DS4J for my image and colored it with Copics.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.  For inspiration, I used a sketch by Susan Liles which was posted on the Verve Stamps website and added a few of my own touches.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for October 23

Sandi's Samples is our sponsor for this week at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge.  I used the digi imaged called "Kathleen."  I colored the image with Copics.  The dp  and solid color cardstock is from Authentique 6x6 Season:Spring pad.  The flowers are a Silhouette file.  The flower center brads are from my stash of brads that I have had forever and no longer know who the maker is.  I used a little Stickles on the flowers.

Tuesday Throwdown #170

This week's theme at Tuesday Throwdown is "Creepy Crawlies".  Our sponsor is Simply B Stamps.
I figured the little men from Mars were enough for creepy crawlies.

I used cardstock from Recollections.  The ribbon and googly eyes are from Michaels.  I colored the image with Copics.  The scalloped circle is from Spellbinders.  The bat is a Silhouette file.  I printed the digi paper for the background from Scrapflair.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner #85

The theme this week at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is "Spooky."  What could be spookier than a two-headed monster?  Probably a lot of things, but I just fell in love with the Double-Headed Monster from our sponsor for this week - SKDigis.

The printed paper is a digi paper from Scrapflair.  I used black Recollections from Michaels.  The twine is from both WRMK and The Twinery.  I printed and cut the image with my Cameo and colored it with Copics.

Boo

I decided to try my hand at a card that doesn't have to be for one of my design teams.  I looked at Paper Playful and there were a ton with Halloween as the theme.  A Day for Daisies had this cute spider on a cupcake as a suggestion for their challenge.

I used Recollections for the cardstock.  I cut the web with a file from Silhouette.  I also used the print and cut feature on the Silhouette for the image.  I colored the image with Copics. I cut the Boo on the Silhouette.  I guess I am a Silhouette addict.

The Outlawz October 16

The sketch for this week is up over at The Outlawz.  Hop on over and see what great cards the design team have created for you. When I saw this sketch, my first thought was a gatefold card.

The Sketch:

I used a letter size piece of cardstock and cut it lengthwise at 5 1/2 inches.  Then, I scored it at 2.75 inches from each end and folded those pieces over.  I used a piece of My Mind's Eye 6x6 Miss Caroline cardstock and cut two pieces at 2.5 x 5.25 each and adhered them to the front panels.  I cut two pieces of green for the panels and adhered them to the front.  I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to design the panel with the image.  After I cut it, I colored it with Copics and ran a black Sharpie along the edge.  The little flowers were an after thought on two places that I slipped with the Sharpie.  Since three is a better number, I added one more flower.  The pearl centers are from Want2Scrap.

AHSC #25

Back from my cruise.  I just love the fall colors of the northeast.  We spent some time in Halifax and had a great lobster dinner.  Saw lots of beautifully colored leaves and trees and had a relaxing time on the high sea.  Of course, I ate way too much and now I need to diet before the holidays get here and I overeat again.

The sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week lent itself to a very masculine card.  So, I decided to make a masculine birthday card.  I had the gears file in my Cameo library so it worked out great for me.  I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder for the grey layer.  The black cs is from Recollections.  The grey was in my stash.

The Outlawz 10-9

It's time for another sketch challenge over at The Outlawz.   Sandi's Creations is sponsoring us during the month of October.  For the die cuts, I used Spellbinders (ovals), Sizzix (leaves) and the print and cut feature on Cameo.  I used distress ink to tone down the green leaves.  The sentiment stamp is from Kaisercraft.  The fuscia flowers reminded me of the hanging baskets I had on my house years ago.  I hung them from the edge of the roof along my back porch.  I colored the image with Copics. The pearls are from Want2Scrap.  I don't know who made the lace tape.

DS4J Sketch 77

This theme for DS4J Challenge 77  is using something recycles.  The paper I used for my snowflakes was taken from the toss pile as it was too small to use for much.  I used three small pieces to make the snowflakes.  I distressed the edges of the dp with  distressing ink.  If you want to enter the challenge, use something you have recycled - a piece of mesh from a bag of fruit, a flower/ribbon from another card for example.

I used the shutter fold pattern I found in the Silhouette store for the card base.  I also cut the snowflakes with the Cameo.  The bling is from Michaels when they had a sale on it a very long time ago.  The image is from the DS4J online store and is called Christmas Robin.

Tuesday Throwdown #168

Morning Peeps.  I hope you are having a good day so far.  I am somewhere in the North Atlantic at this point on a cruise ship.  Had this card all done before I left and scheduled to post today.  The theme this week over at Tuesday Throwdown is Awareness - Make a card for any awareness  - breast cancer, MS, relief.  Whatever you want people to be aware of.  The sponsor for this challenge is Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I chose this image by Jen Leeflang called Misteri - I Care.  I chose to use pink as breast cancer awareness as this type of cancer runs in my family.  I've lost a lot of lovely ladies in my life to breast cancer.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner #83

The theme this week at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is Inspired by Song Title.  Since it is so close to Christmas, I decided to make a Christmas card.  I used the Christmas Carol "O Christmas Tree" as my inspiration.  I chose this image called "Picking a Tree" from our sponsor QKR Stampede.  The white layer is embossed with a Tim Holtz Christmas embossing folder.   The green branches are cut with a Martha Stewart punch.  I used my Cameo print and cut for the image, which I colored with Copics.    I added some Ice White Pearl Pen to the fur on his hat.  The sentiment tag is cut with Spellbinders.  I used a computer typed saying for the sentiment and dabbed it with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

The Outlawz 10-2

Morning Peeps.  It's Tuesday and time for another sketch challenge at The Outlawz.  Our sponsor for the month of October is Sandi's Creations.  Since it is October, I wanted to do a Halloween card. This little hot dog doxie was perfect for me.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right and it worked perfectly for me.  I don't know what the piece I used behind the image is called, but I got several different colors at the local scrapbook store.  I used the Cameo to print and cut the image, but hand cut the arrows.

AHSC #23

Morning Peeps.  Hop on over the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for some great inspiration for the new sketch.  Then create a card or other project following the sketch and show off your work.  This week, my Christmas card turned into a birthday card.  Let me explain.  When I first saw the sketch, I said to myself, "Self, that would be a great Christmas card."  However, when I sat down to create it, being in need of a birthday card, it morphed into a birthday card. I pulled a card sized piece of dp out of my scraps, some coordinating cs and the basic card was born.  I added a flower that I ordered online several months ago and put a pearl (colored with Copics) in the center, stamped Happy Birthday and a card was born.
