Pelican Pete Birthday

I had just a small piece of ocean paper left over from another card I made.  It was just enough to make a layer for an A2 card.  I used this adorable pelican from DS4J.  His name is Pelican Pete and can be found in the DS4J online store here.  I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to print and cut him out.  I colored him with Copic pens and popped him up with foam tape.  I also colored the bling from Want2Scrap with Copics.  The die cut is from Spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment awhile back and don't remember who makes the stamp.

I am entering this card in these challenges:

I Miss You

I have decided to try to use more dry embossing on my cards.  I saw a similar card to this here.  They used a different technique for the background and twine.  I didn't want to CASE the card, just the idea.

I used Anna Griffin Olivia Lace embossing folder on Recollections cardstock.  I ran it through the Ebosser.  The ribbon is from Michaels.  Pearls are from Want2Scrap.

OWH Midweek Challenge - Purple and Yellow

I cut the lattice and the flower with the Cameo. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  I found the flower center, in my box of mixed bling.  The paper is Recollections.

DS4J Challenge #88

We are halfway through Challenge #88 at DS4J.  Annie designed this Vintage challenge.   I am not very good at doing Vintage cards, so here is my feeble attempt.  I thought a tag would be easier for my first Vintage project than a card.  I have a friend who is great at doing Vintage so she encouraged me and approved my tag every step of the way.  She said I needed a feather so I had to steal one from one of the cat toys.    I hope this meets the Vintage requirements.  I used all papers and embellies from my stash of unknown stuff.  The ribbons were colored with Copics to match the paper.  The image I used is Cosmos Corsage.  You can find it and many other fantastic digis in the online store here.

Hugs & Kisses

Late night, early morning again.  I don't know why my body has decided it doesn't need to sleep at night.  So as not to just flip and flop in bed, I got up and decided to try a card.  I saw something similar to this online the other day.  I think it was on Facebook, but I'm not sure.  The card I used as inspiration has the name "kath 2011" on it.  I totally forgot to copy the name of the site where I found it.

I used some really old Hero Arts paper from my stash for the bottom layer.  Ribbon is from Michael's.  Brown cardstock is recollections.  Image is one of my favorite stamps from Hero Arts.  I colored it with Copics.  Bling is from Want2Scrap.  Sentiment die cut from Stampin' Up and sentiment is from My Craft Spot.

OWH Sketch 215

I'm on a roll today.  I've been feeling guilty about ignoring OWH for so long.  Knee surgery kind of made my mojo take a hike.  I am just now, three months later, feeling like I can sit long enough to be at least a little creative.  Once again, I used my Cameo to cut all the pieces.  Have I ever said I love that machine?????   All of the paper is from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  And as usual, I colored the clear rhinestones with a Copic marker.  I used OWH sketch 215 for this card.
Eight more cards for my OWH box.

OWH #217

It's been a long time since I did a challenge for the Sunday challenge over at OWH.  I liked the sketch today so I got busy and did eight of these.  I used my Cameo to cut all the pieces.  The sentiment is from Flourishes.  I colored the clear rhinestones from Want2Scrap with a black Copic marker.  The dp is from K & Company.

DS4J Sunday Release 3/23/14

Happy Sunday morning!  It's a great Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy today.  Margy has provided more clothing for Paperdoll Penny.  This time it's a Cheerleader outfit.  It was fun to work with and merge the stamps again.  You can get both of these images at the DS4J store here.  You will need to purchase two digis - Paperdoll Penny for $2.00 (if you didn't get it last week) and Cheerleader clothes.  You will also find Teen Clothes for $1.50 and Kimono Clothes for $1.50 for Paperdoll Penny.  You can also purchase the doll and teen clothes as one set for $2.00.  These are great digis to learn how to merge digis or just to practice merging them.  I learned how last week. It's easy peasy.

After I posted the card, I giggled because I think the ribbon and flowers look like a palm tree.  It wasn't meant to; it just happened that way.

I used:
Recollections cardstock
Stampin' Up ribbon
Wild Orchid flowers
Wink of Stella glitter pens
Copic markers
Stampin' Up punch
Verve sentiment stamp
Want2Scrap pearls
Silhouette to cut the fancy panel

OWH Sketch #216

I used a whole lot of papers that I have had forever to do several of these cards for Operation Write Home sketch 216.  I had already had the birthday embossing on the white background so I used them for this set of cards.

Daffodil for DS4J Sunday Release 3-16

Another sleepless night.  I have a feeling the waitress gave me regular coffee when I had dinner out tonight instead of decaf.  I am wired for sound and not a bit sleepy.  It is a little after 4 a.m.   I think I do my best work in the middle of the night.  LOL!

This card is for the Sunday release at DS4J.  You can find the new images, and the older one too, here.

Neenah Solar White Cardstock

Signs of Spring

I created this card to enter into two challenges.  One was with Stampin' Royalty who had a color challenge and the other with The Crafter's CafĂ© Challenge which was to use flowers.  Although the Stampin' Royalty used SU papers, I used papers from my stash which were close to the colors in their scheme.  The flowers are the ones I colored with Copics.  I didn't add any flower embellies, but it appears it fits the challenge.  I looked at their DT cards and I seem to fit in.    The die cuts are Spellbinders Tile Works.  I embossed the white panel with Cuttlebug Tiny Bubble embossing folder.

DS4J #87 Birthday Sentiment

For the theme for this week at DS4J, Ursula chose "Use a Birthday Sentiment."    I already had the white panel embossed with the Happy Birthday folder.  I used a piece of scrap dp and a ribbon from Michaels.  I colored the cupcakes with Copic markers and the stand with Zig Wink of Stella silver glitter maker.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is left over from a prior project.

More Green

Since I no longer have to make cards for five design teams (I'm down to only one), I have had an increase in my mojo.  I  like to enter challenges. There were a few more today with green as the theme in honor of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day, next week.

I used:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Neenah Solor White, Recollections
Image: Inkadinkadoo
Ribbon: Michaels
Pearls: Want2Scrap
Ink: Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Ink (new inch pads)

It's Sunday so it's time for the new release at DigiStamps4Joy.  This is just on of the digis for the new release.  Check our the store and see what else Margy has in store for you.

I made this card with this digi.

I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo for the image and colored it with Copic markers.  The "sky" is a digi paper from Scrapflair.  The skyline stamp is a Hero Arts stamp and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Happy Birthday

My college roommate has a birthday coming up.  I put this card together for her today.  I used DCWV Glitzy Glitter cardstock for the base layer, ribbon from Michaels and a digi that I printed out awhile back.  I don't remember the maker of the digi.  I colored the digi with Copics and Wink of Stella glitter pens. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot Inside and Out Set.

It's Not Easy Being Green

On Paper Playful today, there were several challenges that required the use of green since it is almost St. Patrick's Day.  I have several different papers that are perfect for that theme.    I used the sketch by Stephanie Severin from Jingle Belles although I did not enter that challenge since I was not doing a Christmas card.

The patterned paper is from a pack I bought about 10 years ago that was all holiday papers.  Don't remember the maker.  The glitter paper is from DCWV Glitzy Glitter stack.  I stamped the sentiment in Tim Holtz's Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.  I just love the new inch pads he came out with recently.  The felt shamrock is from my stash, maker unknown.

I have entered this in the following challenges:
http://www.craftforthecraic.blogspot.ie/ Something Green
http://craftitudechallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ AG or Add a Little Green

Freebie Friday March 7 at DS4J

Margy presented the DT with this serene image for this month's Freebie Friday at DS4J.  The image will be free until Sunday so hurry on over to the digi shop and download it.  Then show us what you do with it.  It can be any craft project.

I used a scrap of Basic Grey Out of Print for the bottom panel.  The tickets are from Tim Holtz.  I put them away when I bought them about a year ago and promptly forgot about them.  The image is colored with Copics.  I also colored the bling from Want2Scrap with Copics to coordinate with the dp.

February Christmas Card for DS4J

When I saw the image for this month for the DS4J Christmas challenge, I immediately knew what I wanted to do.  It came together in a matter of minutes.  I has the embossed panel already done from another project.  The card base was also left over from another project.  All that was left was to cut a piece of Bo Bunny Rejoice cardstock and a piece of ribbon.  I added the pearls from Want2Scrap after I colored them with Copics.

I am also using this as my entry in Lady Anne's Christmas Card challenge for March.

Cards for OWH

It's not often that I get an inspiration in the middle of the night and act on it.  Actually, it wasn't the middle of the night.  I just could not get to sleep, so I got up and decided to do a card similar to one I had seen online.  I think the inspiration came from a card by Pam (Airborn Stamper's Wife) on OWH.  I save a lot of her cards and use them for inspiration.  So, the second of these two cards was completed at 1:30 a.m.  I think now it is time to go to bed and try to sleep.  Otherwise, I'll be kind of sleepy and cranky tomorrow.

They were so easy to make.  The first card uses a piece of patterned paper for the strip and the second uses MME washi tape.  The stamps are from SU and the die cuts from Creative Memories.  The red and black cardstock is Recollections and the white is Bazzill.  The white in the top card is textured and in the second, embossed although it is hard to tell on either card.

I dipped into my stash for almost everything on these cards.  The Bazzill paper is about two or three years old.  The CM dies I have had for several years.  The only thing that is recently purchased is the washi tape on the second card.

More Fun with Botanical Tea

I was too late to put this in the challenge, but I really liked this sketch.  You can find it here - http://reverseconfetti.com/2014/02/01/february-sketch-for-you-to-try/.

It's hard to tell, but the  pink cardstock is embossed.  It's from Core-dinations.  The ribbon is from Michaels.  The white cardstock is a scrap of Neenah Solar White.  The chipboard  image is from Graphics 45 Botanical Tea collection.

OWH 213 Challenge

I used Graphics 45 Botanical Tea cardstock and Chipboard 1 collection.
