Tuesday Throwdown Sketch 251

Welcome Peeps to another installment of the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  The theme for this challenge is "It's in the Stars" (use stars).  Our sponsor this time is Di's Digis.  For my card, I used "Izzy's Stroll."

I had a difficult time photographing this card because the stars (which are silver) did not want to photograph correctly.  After several tries, I decided to scan it and see if it was any better.  At least the stars are not glaring.

The cardstock is from Stampin' Up.  The dp is Jillibean Soup 6x6 paper pad.  I printed and cut the image from Di's Digis using my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I colored it with Copics.  I used a file from the Silhouette store for the card base.  The stars are from a pack of red, silver and blue stars I got at Michaels a few years back.  I colored the silver stars with a pink Copic marker.  Impression Obsession is the maker of the sentiment called Vertical Greetings.

Exciting News

I am excited to be able to tell this now.  I have known for awhile, but couldn't tell until today.  I have been chosen to be on the design team at Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.  My term starts on July 1.  So be sure to head on over there and join in the fun and come back here on the 1st to see my card.  The only requirement is that you use a patterned paper on your project.   She also has a Christmas Challenge so there is something for everyone and the only requirement there is to make a Christmas card.

The Patterned Paper Challenge is based in the UK.  Winners are chosen at random so everybody, regardless or your style, has an equal chance to win. The challenge begins on the 1st of the month and runs through the month.

I an pleased to be working with a great group of women from all over the globe for this team.  I'm looking forward to a lot of fun.

The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge June 24

We've come to the end of the month for the Wednesday sketch challenge over at The Outlawz.  Did you  know that The Outlawz  has a challenge for ever single day of the week?  Hop on over and check it out,  Our sponsor for this month has been That Craft Place.  For my card, I used "Chocoholic."

The Sketch:

As you can see, I turned this sketch 90° to make the image fit.  The card is 5x7 inches.  Since OWH announced the end of their need for cards for the military, I have been experimenting with various card sizes.  Although I used an oversize embossing folder to emboss the blue layer, it doesn't show up too well in the photo.  The image was done with print and cut with my Cameo and then I colored it with Copics.  I also used a Silhouette file to cut the oval layers.  The ribbon is from Recollections.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.

Tuesday Throwdown June 16 - Mr. Handy Man

Hi Peeps.  It's time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  The theme is "Mr. Handy Man."  Our sponsor for this challenge is Deedee's Digis. I chose to use "Tool Time" for my card.

In keeping with my experimenting with different shaped cards, I chose to do a box card this time.  I used the precolored images from this collection.  The box shape is a Silhouette file.  I printerd and cut the tool shapes using the Cameo.  For the sentiment, I colored it with Copics.  This was a fun shape to work with.

Another Blue Card

I was joking with a friend that this is part of my "blue period" since the card I mad yesterday was blue too.  Blue is my favorite color so I guess it's no surprise that I use a lot of blue.  Again, I made this card just because.  It was for no special reason.  After I finished it, I looked at today's Paper Playful to see where it fit.

It is another shaped card, a side step card, cut on my Cameo.

Front view:

Side view:

Since all the materials I used on my card yesterday were still on my craft table, I decided to use more of them for this card.  I tried something different for the coloring of my image.  I printed the image with Memento Jet Black Ink onto a piece of American Craft cardstock.  It was an experiment that actually worked.  I then colored it with Copics.  I expected that the colors would bleed  but they didn't. Voila, success!

Materials used:
American Craft cardstock - solid colors
Basic Grey - Marrakech 6x6 paper pad
Michael's paper flowers
Michael's bling
Spellbinders dies

Proverbs 20:7

I made this card with two challenges in mind.  Word Art Wednesday and Our Daily Bread Designs.  The black print foiled paper is from HOTP Black Silver Foil.  The silver foil is from DCWV The Cardstock  Stack.  The red foil is also from DCWV but is from The Foiled Cardstock Stack.  The black cardstock is Recollections.  The Bible verse is this week's Word Art Wednesday verse.  I followed OCBD's sketch for this challenge with a couple modifications.  I used MFT banner die and a Fiskar's scallop edge punch.

Happy Birthday

There's a new machine in the house and I couldn't help playing with it for these challenges.  I bought the new 6" Minc when HSN had it on special last month.  I am in love.  I am not sure how to describe the Minc except to say it makes beautiful foil and glittered products.  I used to to glitter and foil the die cuts I used on this project.  I have yet to figure out how to successfully photograph a card with foil without getting a lot of glare.  So, my apologies for the glare.

I used the current sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas.  All papers, cardstock and dp, are from a Jillibean Soup 6x6 paper pad called 6 Bean Soup.  As I said above, the die cuts are made using Minc foil and glitter paper. I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-eight and Star dies.

The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge June 3

The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge for this week is up and running.  Our sponsor for this month is That Craft Place.  My image is called "All The Copics."

I really like the sketch for this challenge.  This is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun with this one and decided to use the Cameo at every turn in the road.  First of all, I designed the card in the Cameo.  Then  I printed and cut the image using the Cameo.  Then, I found the scalloped frame in my files so I cut it with the Cameo, using DCWV 6x6 Glitzy Glitter cardstock.  I decided to make sure that all the other pieces were cut exactly to size, so once again, I measured and cut with the Cameo.   The dp is Echo Park 6x6 Anything Goes cardstock and the pinks are from Recollections.  That was about as far as I could go with the Cameo.  I colored the image with, what else, Copics.  The stamped sentiment is from Impression Obsession Vertical Greetings.  The bling is from Recollections.  I popped the image with 3M foam tape.

The Outlawz June Progressive Challenge

I decided to go with a tag for this image from Anne's Digital Arts for The Outlawz progressive challenge for June.  The orange cardstock is lightly embossed and is from Core'dinations.  The yellow cardstock is from Stampin' Up.  Flowers are Recollections.  the ribbon under the flowers is from American Crafts.  The big ribbon is unknown.  The sentiment is from The Stamps of Life by Stephanie Barnard.  I colored the image with Copics.  Most of the product used has been in my stash for upwards of a year or more.

The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up June Challenge

It's time for The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up challenge for the month of June.

Do you remember Christmas time when you were little?  All of us come from different eras and hopefully we all have some fond memories of Christmases past.  The look of ornaments, decorations, wrapping paper and cards have definitely undergone changes in their appearances throughout the years.  Have you stayed traditional to your roots or have you moved on with the times?  Regardless of your style, this month we want to see a card that reflects the Christmases of old.
In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that your card has a vintage theme.  So, break out those classic images, grungy papers and anything else that will give your card a vintage look.  If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $15.00 gift card from Lunagirl.

I'm not very good at vintage but I gave it the old college try.  I used the Jolly Old St. Nicholas collage from Lunagirl and chose this image from it.  I used the gold paper from "A Grungy Christmas" digi paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles for my background.  The doily is from the supermarket.  The flower is  from my stash.  I used Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish Left for the die cut.

Deedee's Digis Progressive Challenge for June

I just love this super cute digi set for the progressive challenge from Deedee's Digis for this month.  It is called "Diver Daniel."  I fell in love with it at first sight.  I had no problem deciding what I wanted to do with it. Since I have been enamored with center step cards, I decided to go with another one for this month.   I printed three fish with my Cameo, adjusting the sizes and then flipped on horizontally. I cut Daniel and the rock formation with the Cameo too.  The images were pre-colored so it was a very easy job just printing and cutting them. The sentiment is not from Deedee, but is from a Craft Lounge set I have had forever, called "Bubbles."  The cardstock is from a stack by Me & My Big Ideas (also had for ages) called "Starfish."  It has glitter embedded in the waves.

I am entering this in the following challenges.
